This is my implementation of Bangla font with GNU groff software. If
your'r not a "roffer", groff is a document processing software like TeX.
groff is freely available at
ftp://prep.ai.mit.edu/pub/gnu/groff/.
Here is the Abstract from the documentation: This document describes how bangla font is implemented with GNU groff software. The bangla font sgaon is a HP Laserjet softfont. This font is developed by Anisur Rahman, Email:??. In this implementation, the softfonts are converted to PostScript and the groff fonts are also generated from the Adobe Font Matrics, encoding, and map files. The reason for implementing fonts with groff is to take advantage of it's inherent document processing power. This document is prepared with groff mm macro package using the vi editor on a Sparc 10 running SunOS 4.1.4 and groff 1.09.
Here's a Michael's poem written using groff by Dr. Shameem Siddiqui. PDF version here: koptkh.pdf This is converted from PostScript to GIF using ghostscript, therefore, the resolution is not as crisp as original PostScript output.
